Submission is a selfless act to devote all your energies into an entity you trust the most.

A person cannot, and will not, achieve the highest possible discipline of forming a perfect character by his own.

He may seem to see himself as perfect and as flawless in all his dealings with the world, but in the eyes of God he remains spotted with sin. He may see others with different defects of characters but not knowing he has the same weaknesses. He may be very diligent in most of his deeds, but a single faculty of self that is remained feeble gives a fatal blow to the chain of habits he dearly furnished.

With boasting of his capabilities, his trust to God is diminished. Giving an impression that all the cleverness he obtains does not need the aid of the invisible power from above. The view of the most intelligent and productive teacher that ever existed in the universe is clouded. The outlook of self is exalted. He then sees himself as a god, an unstoppable power that says “with this (my knowledge), I will never be lost”. (This cunning bogus promise seems so familiar, have you read it in the book of Genesis? Go now and read it. 🙂 ) By that thought alone, he sinned, and he is already lost.

Not knowing that a union more than he could imagine can elevate his senses higher even to the highest summit of knowledge a man can have. “As the will of man cooperates with the will of God, it becomes omnipotent. Whatever is to be done in His command may be accomplished in His strength. All His biddings are enabling.” – Messages to Young People, page 101

Here then we can see that we have limitless possibilities to attain the apex of godliness. Here then we can have an assurance of the life that is to come. Here then we can have a confident trust to the God we have known and believed. Here then we can prove that all the fable that is thrown to our greatest master is all but a lie. Here then we can see our weakness and His Strength amplified. Here then we could see that our citizenship is in Heaven (Philippians 3:20).

We could now see that in this world, if we are just to submit ourselves to God there will be no impossible thing before us. Forget the tradition and commonly believed notion: “Kay tao raman ta, dli nato na mabuhat”

Instead, take a grip on this: “Let no one say, I cannot remedy my defects of character. If you come to this decision, you will certainly fail of obtaining everlasting life. The impossibility lies in your own will. If you will not, then you cannot overcome. The real difficulty arises from the corruption of an unsanctified heart, and an unwillingness to submit to the control of God.” – Messages to Young People, page 99

All we need is submission.

The Optimistic Perception

As we walk in this world where sin and wickedness lay in front of us for over six thousand years, the human mind has been driven into this vacuum. It influences our ideas and thoughts that everything that was, is, and will be made by feeble men are subject to sin and failure.

Love seems lost its place, people are so acquainted with the growing love of sin. They themselves sometimes evil surmise that others has this characters of degrading value, where in reality it’s they who posses such traits. This mindset acts as a plague spreading in the hearts of men. This can create division inside the Church, in the community, or even inside the family. Such perception must be checked among the trusted stewards of Christ, an illness that must be treated without delay.

Many fix their eyes upon the terrible wickedness existing around them, the apostasy and weakness on every side, and they talk of these things until their hearts are filled with sadness and doubt. They keep uppermost before the mind the masterly working of the archdeceiver and dwell upon the discouraging features of their experience, while they seem to lose sight of the heavenly Father’s power and His matchless love. All this is as Satan would have it. It is a mistake to think of the enemy of righteousness as clothed with so great power, when we dwell so little upon the love of God and His might. We must talk of the mightiness of Christ. We are utterly powerless to rescue ourselves from the grasp of Satan; but God has appointed a way of escape. The Son of the Highest has strength to fight the battle for us, and “through Him that loved us” we may come off “more than conquerors.” – Counsels for the church, Page 79, Paragraph 3

Satan has ability to suggest doubts and to devise objections to the pointed testimony that God sends, and many think it a virtue, a mark of intelligence in them, to be unbelieving and to question and quibble. Those who desire to doubt will have plenty of room. God does not propose to remove all occasion for unbelief. He gives evidence, which must be carefully investigated with a humble mind and a teachable spirit, and all should decide from the weight of evidence. God gives sufficient evidence for the candid mind to believe; but he who turns from the weight of evidence because there are a few things which he cannot make plain to his finite understanding will be left in the cold, chilling atmosphere of unbelief and questioning doubts, and will make shipwreck of faith.  – Counsels for the church, Page 93, Paragraph 4

Stay Optimistic, a single doubt can ruin a handful of confidence. Placing doubts in the hearts of the perfect angels is where Satan started his enmity against Christ.

Is it slowly growing inside us? May it never take a step inside our hearts.

Pray for it. Whatever your struggle may be in the context of the word “doubt”, the greatness of Satan will be dwarfed if you put all your trust to God. Claim the Promise: “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. ” – Philippians 4:19

Caution: Keep Distance

This blog has been created after being motivated by reading yesterday’s Adult Sabbath School Bible Study Guide together with my Adventist friends, with the topic:

God’s Will: Holiness (1 Thess. 4:3).

Holiness in all aspect is the focus of the lesson for this week, it includes wide range of branched topics in its context, but the topic about sexual immorality (fornication) had been the center piece of the discussion.

It took 1 and a half hour for us to share our views and motivational advises in the group.

Let me jump to the point, I don’t really like to spend much time to write long articles.

Then we came into the last question. This one excites me:

What choices can we make that will help protect us from the potential damage that abuse of this gift can bring?

MINDSET is the most important defense that has to be placed in our inventory as Christians. We need not physical items to secure our safety in this battle, for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of darkness in this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Truly, sermons that are focused on relationships and are using sources from the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy books thus help us improved theoretically. Yeah! I’ve been through this, I’ve been watching and listening sermons about these topics,  but how high is the assurance for us to protect ourselves in the trending form of courtship and dating that involves kissing, hugging, and the like?

Remember that in school, there are two parts of study. First is in the lecture where theories are presented, second is in the Laboratory where application of the theories is needed to investigate on how high was your understanding on the previously discussed theories during the lecture time.

Most of the time, laboratory activities are more harder to accomplish than the lecture quizzes. So as to life.

We sometimes feel that we have all the knowledge to shield ourselves in the fiery darts of temptations of adultery and fornication that are thrusting towards us. Keep in mind, when you’re in the battlefield, it’s not 100% that the environment there is the same compared to the scenarios that are shown in the lecture.

My point here is we are very weak to resist the temptations when we are alone with the opposite sex in an isolated place. This means that (not most of the time but based on my own experience) even how founded are we in the counsels about the proper and modest way to behave and apply the ways of friendship and love with the other sex, we tend to behave the way we don’t want to be. Because of the improper time, inappropriate topics, and not in the right place with the opposite sex some professed Christians cannot handle with boldness the temptations that Satan had laid for them.

prevention is better than cure. 🙂

We must stand firm in every decision that we make, let’s walk the talk!

-I will be adding a new post that is related with this.-

God Bless! 🙂
