Submission is a selfless act to devote all your energies into an entity you trust the most.

A person cannot, and will not, achieve the highest possible discipline of forming a perfect character by his own.

He may seem to see himself as perfect and as flawless in all his dealings with the world, but in the eyes of God he remains spotted with sin. He may see others with different defects of characters but not knowing he has the same weaknesses. He may be very diligent in most of his deeds, but a single faculty of self that is remained feeble gives a fatal blow to the chain of habits he dearly furnished.

With boasting of his capabilities, his trust to God is diminished. Giving an impression that all the cleverness he obtains does not need the aid of the invisible power from above. The view of the most intelligent and productive teacher that ever existed in the universe is clouded. The outlook of self is exalted. He then sees himself as a god, an unstoppable power that says “with this (my knowledge), I will never be lost”. (This cunning bogus promise seems so familiar, have you read it in the book of Genesis? Go now and read it. 🙂 ) By that thought alone, he sinned, and he is already lost.

Not knowing that a union more than he could imagine can elevate his senses higher even to the highest summit of knowledge a man can have. “As the will of man cooperates with the will of God, it becomes omnipotent. Whatever is to be done in His command may be accomplished in His strength. All His biddings are enabling.” – Messages to Young People, page 101

Here then we can see that we have limitless possibilities to attain the apex of godliness. Here then we can have an assurance of the life that is to come. Here then we can have a confident trust to the God we have known and believed. Here then we can prove that all the fable that is thrown to our greatest master is all but a lie. Here then we can see our weakness and His Strength amplified. Here then we could see that our citizenship is in Heaven (Philippians 3:20).

We could now see that in this world, if we are just to submit ourselves to God there will be no impossible thing before us. Forget the tradition and commonly believed notion: “Kay tao raman ta, dli nato na mabuhat”

Instead, take a grip on this: “Let no one say, I cannot remedy my defects of character. If you come to this decision, you will certainly fail of obtaining everlasting life. The impossibility lies in your own will. If you will not, then you cannot overcome. The real difficulty arises from the corruption of an unsanctified heart, and an unwillingness to submit to the control of God.” – Messages to Young People, page 99

All we need is submission.

Eternal Investments

As for this moment, where do you invest your money, time, strength, intellect, devotion, and attention? Will that investment last for a long period of time? Will it last forever?

Let me ask you a question, is wealth and happiness connected in a way where one increases and the other does so? Well, the answer is NO. A study shows that their connection is weak and is concluded that money doesn’t really assures happiness at all.

The Bible being as the book above all books, has something to say about the secret of happiness; and investments that will last for eternity are the keys to garner it. Let’s start to unravel them.

Here are the 7 ways to invest everything you have for eternity. These investments are not about storing but about giving.

1. Food
He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor. – Proverbs 22:9

2. Clothing
He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise. – Luke 3:11

3. Money
Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee. – Deuteronomy 16:17

4. Word of God
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. – 2 Timothy 4:2

5. Time
I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. – Acts 20:35

6. Tithe
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. – Malachi 3:10

7. Life
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. – John 3:16

If the list lacks, you can add some in the comment section below.

As we can see from above, what we can give are not only the material things that God has given us. It also includes time, attention, our life as a whole. It is also stated that “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” – John 15:13

While your are yet in your prime; physically, mentally, spiritually, offer everything you can into anyone that is in need. Do it daily so that it will become a way of living. Your acts will then be whole-hearted and without grudge.

Be reminded by this line from the book, Our High Calling: “Life is not made up of great things alone; it is the little things that make the sum of life’s happiness or miseries. It is the little things in life that reveal a person’s real character.”

As a start, i would like to encourage you to be a partner/donor with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Thousands of children will be given care together with their other needs without any payment.

Start giving now. Start sharing what you can share and always pray for God to give you endurance and a sense of commitment in this noble work. That will help you direct your paths in your investments straight up into eternity.

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.” – Colossians 3:1

Beholding Constantly

Have you experienced something that whenever you gaze into the sun and direct your view away from it, you still see its image imprinted in everything which you look upon?

This is a metaphor of what Christ can amazingly do in your life. A constant and devoted effort to learn about His Sovereignity and His unlimited grace. His words and deeds can be copied if you let your self to be occupied by it. Feeble yet effective reflections of His character will be reflected to others. By doing so, you’ll help them improve their conception of Christ and in return you will be enriched by such an amazing knowledge for now and eternity.

Every opportunity to learn more of Christ must not be shunned, it must be willingly studied, selflessly practiced and heartily shared. Every branch of Science and Literary study that can help your understanding of Him must be took upon, nothing that will be unvaluable for the afterlife is worthy to be invested by your time. Time is golden and must be used in the most useful work available at hand.

Now, be honest to your self, that proncrastination is a global phenomenon, and we must put into our mind that there are no peak time to do the work all at once. All must be done in order and must not be done in a rush. Even in the most simple practice of studying God and His written Word must not be seasonal. You must be very zealous everytime in everything. That way, the consistency remains and our gaze to the Sun of Righteousness will became a habit.

By beholding contantly, we will be beheld. We may be weak in our own eyes, our faith may be that small in our own estimation, but our God has that geniune faith and believes more than you think yourself can accomplish. Learn of Him and practice every knowledge learned, and unconsciously your worth will be seen. Others will then be following the God that you worshipped, sharing the Message you’ve scattered, and keeping the Faith that you are living.

Have a life, a life that prepares you for a life eternal.

Start it here, start it now, start it by beholding Christ constantly.

The Core

In our Christian life we often hitch hiked in the crust of Christianity, studying the dust and sands of every Biblical truth. We often get caught scraping, scratching, and scuffing the surface of every doctrine.

Sometimes we go to church just to listen to the words from the Pastor and ministers in the pulpit, nodding in every truth presented, yet not recording and inscribing every detailed explanation and exposition from it.

We always end up empty, we’re always unsatisfied for every lacking message that we ought to hear, but in our part we do nothing but stare, hear, and leave. We are not fixing our mental gaze into a much deeper digging of truth.

In our world, the precious stones, ores, and other minerals are found beneath the earth. These far buried gems are obtained by persevering effort of digging, so as with our Christian life; we cannot see the greatest of gifts that Christ offers if we don’t dig deeper! If we see Jehovah crucified in the cross, if we see the past miracles wrought, if we see the prophecies foretold, yet if we in our selves don’t believe it as a real story the happened, happening, and will happen, then we lack faith and the effort of acquiring it.

If you see the enumerable blessings that the Bible presents, your craving will be shifted to the greatest desire the world has ever witnessed; the Lamb that taketh away the sin of the World.

Enough of the constant repetition of mediocrity, dream for a more higher commitment of learning, a greater expanse of lasting knowledge, the knowledge of infinite, the knowledge of God.

But not until these truth applied to self and works a reformation of character, these truth remains useless. It must live its purpose; to inspire, to devote, and to rouse every stain of dirt to be transformed into a nobler and useful entity in this world and the world to come. Whatever verses you memorize or doctrine mastered, without application everything is useless. So as faith without works is dead.

As you dig in the bedrock of truth, provide yourself a vessel that will also bring you deeper into each truth, don’t just learn but adapt. Despite the heat of frustration flings to you, as you begin reaching the core of heavenly intelligence, always prepare the sturdiest reformation of your armor called character, always be ready and committed to leave the comfort of the surface above, you have a goal to be finished. A study that lives eternally.

You are going to the core.
